The Problem as We See it
Education with literacy as its bedrock is the first and most important step towards social and economic freedom. However, children in public schools and low-performing, pedestrian private schools in this nation are rarely exposed to quality instruction or resources such as libraries, books, tutorials, programs, e-t-c that are necessary for them to develop the literacy skills crucial to their academic and socio-emotional growth. Without proficiency in literacy skills, quality education becomes impossible which then shortchanges them from reaching their full potentials and breaking the ropes of generational poverty.

We are a non-profit organization in Nigeria serving the literacy needs of children from low-income families by providing access to literacy instructions, books, and other educational materials and resources.

With this initiative, our goal is to promote reading culture in the communities we serve. With access to books, free tutorials, and other learning resources, children and community members can be empowered by their own sound literacy skills and be able to self-direct their learnings. Literacy Lab
One Step at a Time
At Read For Growth, we address this literacy problem among children of underserved communities as a systemic issue. Hence Literacy Lab is meant to tackle this problem on micro and macro levels: advocating for better conditions that will facilitate literacy skills for children on a governmental level, organizing seminars and workshops for parents, teachers and school leaders on evidence based practices that help in teaching reading. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
